One Price to Attend Units 5 - 7

Following completion of all seven units of the Lean Construction Education Program, participants will be qualified to sit for an exam to earn AGC’s Certificate of Management—Lean Construction (CM-LC), which will be available in 2015.

Lean Supply Chain & Assembly (Unit 5) | Monday, June 15 (7:00am-4:00pm)

A half day class introducing lean strategies and tools used to deliver materials, equipment and prefabricated assemblies to the jobsite in a manner that facilitates flow.  Learn to differentiate between traditional procurement practices and lean supply chain applications; identify waste and value-adding activities, evaluate the impact of using lean supply chain on waste elimination, etc.

Lean Design & Pre-Construction (Unit 6) | Monday, June 15 - Tuesday, June 16 (Monday from 4:30-6:30pm, and Tuesday from 7:00-9:00am)

Course introduces you to the concepts of value-based management, lean in the design process and relational contracting. Applying lean concepts to design is a continuation of the lean concepts applied to construction. The lean concepts apply to design just as they apply to construction. The goal is to understand the design process to the extent we can help the design and pre-construction process mesh with the needs of lean construction.

Problem Solving Principles (Unit 7) | Tuesday, June 16, 2015 (9:30am-6:00pm)

Problem-solving Principles and Tools introduces you to the use of teamwork in solving problems and useful tools to support the problem-solving process.

Following this course, you will be able to:

Define the difference between traditional and lean problem solving.
Describe how to create a team environment to solve problems.
Explain how to create trust to avoid problems.
Describe Observation Walks.
Identify root causes of problems.
