Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center officials will host a public meeting next week to share updates for a planned 100,000-square-foot ambulatory facility at Kingsdale Center.

Medical center officials and representatives of their design and construction teams will provide the latest updates on plans to build a comprehensive healthcare office in Upper Arlington, at the city’s Municipal Services Center.

The meeting will offer an overview of the project, which is slated for construction this June.

“(It’s) to allow residents to meet the design and construction team, to provide residents a comprehensive update on the project, and a chance to ask questions,” said Dan Like, executive director of ambulatory services at OSU Wexner Medical Center.

“(It’s) to get a chance to ask questions, learn more about the facility and the services it will offer, to see the building elevations, the landscaping plan and understand the construction schedule and process,” he said. “This is also a chance for the residents to meet the team responsible for designing, constructing and managing the facility once it opens.”

Like said construction on the five-story facility, which will employ 150 to 160 people, is expected to take 13 months.

He added that OSU Wexner is eyeing a summer 2016 opening for the center, which will be built on land previously owned by the city of Upper Arlington.
