Ronald Simonetti, retired from Cleveland Cement Co., and Robert Dalrymple, North Coast Concrete, both in Cleveland, received Lifetime Achievement Awards from the American Society of Concrete Contractors (ASCC), St. Louis, MO on September 29 at the organization’s Annual Conference in Cleveland.
More than 50 Construction Employers Association (CEA) members and fellow union contractors are donating their time, talent, funds and materials to build a Greater Cleveland Habitat for Humanity house from start to finish, a first charitable venture of its kind for CEA. Guest speakers for the Grandview Ave. groundbreaking ceremony on April 18 included Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, Marcia Fudge, Mayor Justin Bibb, Congresswoman Shontel Brown, and Cleveland Council President, Blaine Griffin.
Glen Shumate, Executive Vice President, Construction Employers Association (CEA) and founder/executive director of Construction Assistance Association (CAA) is a 2021 ODOT Director's Award for Excellence in Diversity and Inclusion Advocacy.

On Dec. 2, the IRS announced it would extend the deadline to March 2 from Jan. 31 for employers to provide employees with a copy of their 1095-C or 1095-B reporting form, and again extended "good faith effort" transition relief to employers for Affordable Care Act (ACA) reporting for plan year 2019.
