Past experience working at medical centers and/or project spaces that are adjacent to occupied spaces is preferred. Also preferred, is the ability to perform some labor/light cleanup and minor miscellaneous carpentry tasks, however, not a requirement. Candidates must have the ability to work independently, read drawings, read specs, navigate a computer, Outlook, Word, and some Excel. Candidate must have the ability to multitask and keep up with the demands and workflow of projects that encompass various scopes of work.

Makes daily pre/post trip inspections on assigned vehicle to maintain maximum vehicle safety conditions and to check for any damaged or work parts or for any signs of tampering. Drives dump truck to destination applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and of roads in the area.

The COO provides general and specific staff assistance to the Mayor and City Council Members in technical matters and works under general guidance and direction of the Mayor and represents the City as directed.

In order to advance the mission of Cleveland Builds, the Director of Training & Placement will partner with all Construction Employers Association (CEA) and Cleveland Building & Construction Trades Council (CBCTC) members. The Director will also collaborate with all Cleveland Builds and Construction Employers Association staff and report to the executive director of Cleveland Builds. It is anticipated that the Director will bring significant building & construction industry experience and expertise to this role.

Reviews Extra Work Orders and Change Orders for construction projects; reviews pay requests by contractors, consultants and testing laboratories; assists in monitoring consulting engineers and inspectors performance; reviews construction schedules; attends and conducts progress meetings at construction sites; schedules and conducts final inspections prior to acceptance.

Efficient establishment and maintenance of central filing systems for correspondence, documentation and project submittals/shop drawings.

An excellent driving record and the ability to pass routine background checks and drug tests are required

This position will serve as CEA’s liaison to the ACE Mentor Program of Cleveland, Cleveland Builds, and other affiliated organizations on a case-by-case basis to the extent such duties and responsibilities are consistent with and advance the mission of CEA. This position is highly regarded and critical to the success of CEA. The individual in this role has a continual and on-going responsibility to ensure the development of programs and events to increase community and member engagement consistent with CEA’s central mission. Cultivating relationships with the many organizations is expected.
